I am a lifelong Alaskan Who has lived in Fairbanks for almost 20 years. I first left Seward and Anchorage to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks and earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Anthropology. I am a working Archaeologist and Anthropologist as well as a current UAF graduate student. I have worked on the cultural resource surveys required as part of state and federal statute and regulations. While not the typical background for public service, I believe these skills will be a great asset to the Fairbanks community.
I have seen the tireless drive of those who want to make Fairbanks better and I have also seen the head winds. We have a great asset here in the City of Fairbanks, not just as a place to make a living but to make great life. But, to continue enjoying what we have we need to put in the work.
· I support a proactive and humane approach to housing insecurity and homelessness. I support the proposed warm up shelter critical to ensuring Fairbanks residents are not at risk of death.
· I support efforts to increase the stock of affordable housing so keeping a roof above one’s head isn’t an insurmountable burden
· I support city contracts that compensate the people who keep our city running fairly
· I support efforts to increase accessibility and city beatification efforts, especially Downtown
